Tenuazonic acid

February 16, 2018
Tenuazonic acid is a fungal secondary metabolite that produced by a number of Alternaria species and found as a natural contaminant in food and feed samples.

Tenuazonic acid shows cytotoxic, antibacterial, antiviral and phytotoxic properties and is considered acutely toxic Alternaria toxin.

Because of the widespread occurrence of Alternaria spp. on plants used for food production, the tenuazonic acid can often be detected in various foods such as baby food, grain-based products, tomato-based products and pepper-based products.

For your investigations and isotope dilution analysis, we can offer the 13C2 -tenuazonic acid as isotope-labeled internal standard.
