Metazachlor is used as a selective lead herbicide against weedy grasses in cabbage, tobacco, rapeseed and potato crops. The main metabolites of metazachlor are metazachlorosulphonic acid (BH 479-8) and metazachloric acid (BH 479-4). Both metabolites are found in groundwater and are of importance for the resulting raw water for drinking water production with regard to consumer health protection.

ASCA GmbH has successfully synthesized these main metabolites of metazachlor and can offer these as native and labelled standards.
