Prosulfuron

September 17, 2021

We are pleased to introduce the newly synthesized deuterated Prosulfuron and two of its metabolites. Prosulfuron is highly soluble, volatile, has a high potential for leaching into groundwater, and can be very persistent in aquatic systems. Prosulfuron and its two metabolites are ecotoxic and show adverse effects on living organisms including mammals. A recent regulation by the EU commission concluded that it was appropriate to remove a former restriction, by which the use of Prosulfuron as an herbicide was to be limited to one application every three years on the same field, and to permit its annual use. This regulation went into effect in April 2021.
